TransPeneda-Gerês 2016 Trail World Championships – Kellie Emmerson Video Interview

Some of you may or may not know but the IAU World Trail Running Champs takes place this weekend and there’s a strong Aussie and Kiwi contingent, led on the Aussie side from Brendan Davies and Kellie Emmerson.

We’re very lucky to have permission from Brendan (who also coaches Kellie) to feature this video ahead of the race this weekend, where Kellie gives a run down of her year to date and of the course out there too. Kellie’s had a cracking year, resulting in a podium at UTA back in May, as well as winning Surf Coast Century for the third consecutive year and in a new record time once again. She’s pretty much dominated the trail ultra scene in Victoria, winning everything in sight, so it was awesome to see her do so well at UTA – I hope she’s back next year for another crack. I could certainly see her winning that race one day.

Kellie finished an excellent 19th place last year and to quote her ‘is in the form of her life’ – I think she’ll certainly be looking to go a few spots better this year and who knows, maybe even break into the top ten if things fall into place. Best of luck to Kellie and all of the teams from Australia and New Zealand. We might be hopefully featuring a few more videos from Brendan tomorrow.

I'm a mediocre runner who can bat above his average when I train hard. A man of extremes, I do enjoy everything life offers and consider it an absolute pleasure just to be able to put one foot in front of the other and let my mind wander somewhere different.
