It’s that time of year once again when we all chew the fat over who the best runners of 2013 were. Always a subjective one this, and of course we all have our own personal favourites to boot.
First up, we’re going to look at the leading contenders for International Ultra Runners of the Year, both female and male. Then in a few days, we’re post our pick for local home-grown Aussie Ultra Runners of the Year for you to peruse and deliberate over.
So what do you have to do? Well it’s pretty simple, pick a female and male that you think deserves the title and we’ll announce the results of our little vote just before the New Year.

To help you along, we’ve added in some form guide for our respective runners, plus, if you feel that we’ve missed someone, we’ve even allowed you to write A.N.Other too. We’ve tried to keep it as simple as possible in terms of contenders and winners of the world’s biggest races, so we hope you feel that it’s a fair representation. If we’ve missed a really obvious one (it can happen), first up – sorry. Secondly, feel free to add it under the ‘Other’ column 🙂

Gotta be Rory and Rob Krar
Rory for the Top10 placing at UTMB and Rob’s year was absolutely stella for someone who was not on the radar last year with victories over most if not all the others in the list and an amazing first attempt at WSer
