How we all get to benefit from Kilian Jornet – The S-LAB Approach

Marathon du Mont-Blanc

Our friends over at iRunFar have done an excellent article profiling a division of one company that is really bringing cutting edge technology to the world of trail running. Now you would have heard me bang on about my experiences with the Salomon team during my visit to the Pyrenees earlier this year, but it is great to be seeing the fruits of their labours from their in house R&D led S-LAB division slowly making their way to our shores for us mortals to try.

As you would have noticed from my GNW100 race report I used almost exclusively Salomon gear and it just worked, plain and simple. It was definitely one less thing to worry about.

In fact the much hyped S-Lab 12 litre backpack that a few of us have managed to get our hands on at Ultra168 has arrived in Australia. This is the one that Kilian wore at both TNF100 here in Australia and for his win at UTMB in August too. Footpoint Show Clinic has 20 in stock and is now also taking pre-orders before Christmas, and you’ll get a whopping 15% off to. If you’re interested in getting an order in before the rest, click here.

In the not too distant future get to wear the all conquering shoe that he used at his victorious 5 Continents challenge. Its called the Sense and will again push the boundaries of what a shoe can do.

Coupled with Bryon’s excellent article above here is my own version of events as seen through my camera during just another day in the world of Salomon.

  1. Great video! Brings back many nice memories from the days we shared at Font Romeu. And yes, the SLab project this guys are moving along is truly impressive. May they go on forever! 🙂
