This is where it all began. Ultra168 was born through a few simple philosophies when we embarked on some of the big adventures that the team has completed to date. While we all take part in organised races and events across Australia and indeed around the World, it’s some of these larger ‘unofficial’ trips which saw the making of the mantra of the team:
’24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week, 168 hours to run’
It’s about taking the usual mindset of what is considered normal and challenging the conventions of how and when you should run. Ambitions are governed only by what you think is possible and your own perceived limits. There’s no reason why you can’t start running at 2am, or why you can’t keep on running for 3 days in a row without sleep. That’s not to put an elitist persuasion on what we do, or indeed what anyone in ultra running achieves, it’s about setting your own goals and challenging what you think is possible.
But above all, it’s about doing it with your mates and the four ‘F’s’:
- Friends
- Fun
- Food
- Feet
If you look after all four of the above, the rest will take care of itself. To read about the trips we’ve been on, click on the reports under this tab.
